Eighth Day, formed in late 97', with Lead Vocalist Jason Sloan, Lead Guitarist Eddy Cristian, Bassist Chris T, and Drummer Scott Allen. Less than 1 month after the band formed, they hit the music scene with a Bang. The band did not want to be another cover band, that played every song you hear on the radio when your in your car, so they decided that the covers that they would play would be ones that you do not hear very often. Along with the Originals that they had that always keep the crowds in a total trance. After a year of playing most every weekend, they decided it was time to put together their first CD " Timeless". They thought long and hard about this project. Pulling their funds together, and they booked time in a local recording studio, Ian Recording. With the help of their great staff, they put their 11 song project together in less than 20 hrs. Being pleased with their CD, they had their CD release party in the small town of Jones Oklahoma, which was hosted by local KATT radio personality " Jake Daniel's". The release went better than they could hope for. Selling out of their CD's, and T-shirts. The band decided to reach out further north , into Kansas, then into Arkansas, and Louisiana. The Radio stations, in all states have had great response with the bands CD, playing cuts like, " I don't want you", " Timeless", "Shadows", & "Fire in the hole". At certain radio stations they were over taken by callers requesting the CD.
Eighth Day has over come many trials, from the Lead singer Jason, having symptoms of a heart attack during a show, to the Drummer Scott having a mild stroke ( TIA) after a local show. But it seems like nothing will stop them.
They have been honored to open for Regional Acts like, "Red Stone" from Nashville Tennessee, and " Vagrant" from Atlanta Georgia, winners of the "MOTLEY CRUE" BEST UNSIGNED BAND CONTEST. And opening for National Acts like " Dr. Hook".
In early 1999 the band was approached to be a part of a "Poison Tribute CD", to be released in mid 2000. The band went back into the studio and recorded " Every Rose Has It's Thorn". The copy was sent and approved in mid August '99. In October of 1999, the bands bass guitarist, Chris, moved to Ohio. Losing a founding member, Jason, Edd, and Scott knew it would be hard to find a new bassist with the chemistry and ability to fill Chris's boots. In April of 2000, the band found a new bassist, Zakk, bringing a new and fresh style and sound. The band is in the middle of learning new songs, and working on a new CD. The band looks forward to getting back out soon. They hope to see everyone at the shows, so be sure to listen for the name.......
